Course summary

Are you a healthcare professional looking to increase your specialist knowledge and skills in digital health? Our MSc in Health Informatics is the ideal postgraduate degree to place you at the forefront of one of the fastest growing areas of healthcare globally.

Using state-of-the-art technologies and a strong focus on practical and analytical skills, you will develop advanced knowledge and understanding of the theory, principles, and practice of health informatics, including information governance, data security, ethical considerations, and global eHealth strategies.

Based within the University’s £30m Centres for Excellence for Administrative Data and eHealth Research, you will benefit from strong links with the NHS and Life Science sector organisations, learning about developments and the changing nature of technology within the sector through real-time exposure and experience.

On completion of the course you will be equipped with expertise in health informatics standards, project management and innovation, leading to enhanced employability and leadership roles within the NHS, healthcare providers, and related sectors.
