Course summary
This course intended for candidates who are employed within the Civil Engineering Industry.
Typically those completing the qualification will gain formal recognition of their skills. It is also likely that they are seeking to progress into more senior roles that require additional supervisory or managerial skills. On successful completion of the Certificate, candidates can progress to further Higher Education courses, such as the FdEng Civil Engineering programme, in the same or related subjects. Grŵp Llandrillo Menai offers a number of options, such as the FdEng Civil Engineering. Alternatively, candidates can apply to other institutions.
This award will enable learners working in the industry to broaden their skills base beyond the horizons of their existing employment and thus enhance their career prospects in the four main areas of civil engineering: transportation, water, structures and construction.
This qualification is approved as fully satisfying the educational base for an Engineering Technician (EngTech). This course is therefore ideally suited to those who wish to work as Civil Engineering Technicians.
After completing the course, suitably qualified learners can progress on to Level 5 of the Foundation Degree course. The award will also enable learners to progress towards Incorporated Engineer status and is a requirement for technician status in the industry.
