Course summary

Study Civil Engineering at Aston University and develop the technical and practical skills needed to design and deliver infrastructure and built environment projects. This course combines applied, project-based learning with industry-informed teaching.

  • Applied learning across structures, geotechnics and infrastructure systems

  • Compulsory placement year providing industry experience

  • Development of Aston Power Skills alongside technical expertise

Students have completed placements with organisations including Balfour Beatty and Laing O’Rourke, working in engineering and site roles.

Typical roles for graduates include civil engineer, structural engineer and project engineer.

Integrated master’s (MEng) option available for advanced technical study and progression towards chartered engineer status.
