Course summary

The MSc Performance Analysis in Sport degree is designed to advance careers in performance analysis and high-performance sports practice. This programme provides a blend of expert academic knowledge and practical skills necessary for delivering high-quality services to athletes, coaches, and organisations.

The course covers traditional roles such as video and match analysis, notational analysis, and live sport analysis, as well as modern skills in data analysis, reporting, visualisation, scouting, and recruitment. It also explores the performance analyst's impact within coaching, strength and conditioning, and sports injury rehabilitation, among other areas.

You will benefit from:

The MSc in Performance Analysis in Sport is available on both a full-time (one year) and part-time (two to three years) basis.

The full-time programme runs from September to September and offers the following exit awards:

  • Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert): Completion of one module.

  • Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip): Completion of two modules.

  • Master's (MSc): Completion of two modules plus a dissertation. To achieve the MSc award, you must successfully complete the modules Performance Analysis and Injury Prevention and Performance Measurement, along with the Research Project Module.
