Course summary

The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Film and Television is for students who have completed the Level 4 HNC in Film and Television or equivalent qualification.

The Level 5 HND in Film and Television prepare students to move on to specific areas of film and television and develop the qualities and abilities necessary for roles that require personal responsibility and decision-making in film and television. Students will be able to develop and apply their own ideas to their studies, to deal with uncertainty and complexity, to explore solutions, demonstrate critical evaluation and use both theory and practice in a wide range of film and television situations.

You will continue to work with industry standard equipment and resources to teach you the essentials of working within the film and television industries, to fully prepare you for work.

Studying this course, you will achieve the Level 5 HND (Higher National Diploma) in Film and Television), which is the equivalent to the first two years of a degree.

Progression Opportunities - Students who complete this course may apply to do a top up course at University or enter into employment.

B2: Professional Project

Assessment method

The Course is broken down into two modules. Both of which are assessed through portfolio building assignments.

In B1 Personal Professional Development you will explore both the creative and technical aspects of your own work and your future career intentions; developing projects and professional skills and materials that will enable you to progress to employment or continued study.

In B2 Professional Project you will build on your creative, technical and contextual knowledge and skills to apply them to more complex and professionally orientated work.
