Abertay Bursary for Northern Irish, English and Welsh students 
Overview

Bursaries of up to £1,750 for each year of study are available to students from Northern Ireland, England and Wales (RUK) who are commencing their undergraduate studies in Dundee in the September term and whose household income is assessed as less than £34,000 per year. 

The bursary is intended to help you with university costs such as accommodation, food and books, and is paid directly into your bank account.

Eligibility 

To be eligible you must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Have been classified as rest of UK (RUK) fee status by Abertay University.
  • Have received an offer of a place for entry to Abertay University to study in Dundee as a full time undergraduate student in September.
  • Have registered at Abertay University for your course in September.
  • Be assessed by the Student Loans Company (SLC) as having a verified household income less than £34,000 per year.
  • Be resident in the UK.
  • Be applying for your first undergraduate degree.

How to Apply 

When you apply to the Student Loans Company for a student loan they will assess your household income.

If you meet the eligibility criteria outlined above, the University will send you an email confirming the award of the bursary and ask you to confirm your acceptance. Please reply if you wish to accept this award.

The bursary is paid into your bank account in two instalments (end of October/end of February). You can also choose to take the award as a discount from either tuition fees or university accommodation.
