First Generation Opportunity Scholarship

A £1000 cash award for those who are the first in their family to go to University. There are a maximum of 10 scholarships available.  Awards will be made based on expressions of interest sent to admissions@wrexham.ac.uk after an applicant firmly accepts Wrexham University’s offer to study.

First Generation Scholarship Regulations 2026-27

Applicants must indicate on their application (UCAS or Direct) if they are the first in their family to attend University. This is done via the answer to the question 'Do you or any of your parents, step-parents or guardians have any Higher Education qualifications, such as a Degree, Diploma or Certificate of Higher Education?'.

Applicants who answer 'no' to this question should then submit the expression of interest form via this link:
