St Mary’s Medical Student Community Health Champion Scholarship

Scholarship information

Eligibility

The scholarships are open to undergraduate students who:

  • Have been assessed as overseas for fee purposes
  • Applying for entry to the MBBS programme in 2026/27 (cannot be deferred)
  • Must have passed the Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI), received a Conditional or Unconditional Offer and meet all general MBBS entry requirements.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the School of Medicine’s social purpose values
  • Scholarships cannot be held in conjunction with other St Mary’s awards or full-fee external sponsorships

Recipients will be selected based on their performance in the Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) and will exemplify the values of St Mary’s School of Medicine: excellence, generosity of spirit, inclusiveness and respect.

Examples of qualifying impact may include:

  • Volunteering in community settings with vulnerable groups
  • Supporting public health campaigns or education initiatives
  • Working with under-resourced populations to increase healthcare access

Please note that there is a limited number of scholarships. No separate application is required as all eligible international MBBS applicants will be automatically considered following their MMI performance. The scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis and therefore candidates who apply for their programme of study early may have a greater opportunity of success.

International Scholarship Offer holders agree to represent St Mary’s University as an ambassador throughout their degree programme. Ambassadorial activities may include providing testimonials or content for social media and other marketing activities, and participating at University Open Days or international promotional events (in-person or virtually), subject to class timetabling and availability.
