Please email your expression of eligibility for the Estranged Student Bursary to bursaries@nmite.ac.uk by 5pm on 26 June 2026. Students are required to provide evidence of their refugee status; this must be in the form of an original letter/document, showing their Refugee or Humanitarian Protection status, from the Home Office/UK Government. Your household income will also need to be verified.
The Bursary is worth £1000 per academic year of study, plus £1000 to help with start-up costs, to a maximum of £4000
Awards cannot be claimed retrospectively for previous academic years.
The Bursary is paid in three instalments each academic year: normally September, January, and May.
The funding will support one student through up to three years of study
Students cannot receive more than one Care Leaver, Estranged student, and Refugee Bursary. If you meet the eligibility criteria for more than one of these Bursaries, then it will be at the discretion of the Financial Awards Committee which Bursary you receive.
