Sport Scholarships

We are committed to supporting our student athletes throughout their studies and sporting schedule. Find out what’s available to all performance and elite student athletes at CCCU.

The University is recognised by Sport England’s Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) as a Dual Career Accredited Site, which acknowledges an enhanced level of academic flexibility allowing talented athletes to balance their studies alongside a sporting schedule.

Canterbury Christ Church University have also partnered with Kent Cricket Club, giving students a chance to enrol on our brand-new Enhanced Cricket Scholarship.

There are three types of scholarships that you can apply for:

1. Performance Sport Scholarship
2. Elite Sport Scholarship
3. Enhanced Cricket Scholarship.

Sport Scholarships

What will you receive?

For the Performance Sport Scholarship, you will receive £500

For the Elite Sport Scholarship, you will receive £750-£1,500

You will also receive:

• sport science/strength and conditioning support
• complimentary gym membership
• access to sports therapy and rehabilitation
• Mentor support
• scholar sport kit
• Sports Scholar Awards.

Who is this for?

Scholars must compete at one of the following levels:

• Performance – demonstrates success at a county/regional level
• Elite – demonstrates success at a national level or above.

Current and prospective students are encouraged to apply.

What is the deadline?

There are three windows in which to apply for a Sport Scholarship:

• 1 February - 26 March
• 13 April - 12 June
• 6 July - 1 September

These windows are to ensure that we can award scholarships in a timely manner to the right applicants.

How do you apply?
