Falmouth University Travel Fund

Scholarship information

The Falmouth University Travel Fund is designed to support individuals facing financial hardship with visiting the University before enrolling. Individuals who are UK residents and meet our specific criteria are assisted with the cost of travel to on-campus events.

Amount: Up to £100

Who it’s for: Individuals who are UK residents and meet our specific criteria (outlined below) facing financial hardship with visiting the University. 

The Fund can be used to assist with the cost of travel to the following events: 

  • Open Days 
  • Offer Holder Days
  • On-campus Interviews 
  • Campus tours

If you are eligible for the travel fund, you will need to pay the full cost of your travels to the Falmouth University event, and then the Travel Fund will reimburse you up to the thresholds outlined below:

You may be able to claim between £10 and £100, depending on the distance you travel from your home address to our campus. 

  • Travelling from within Cornwall - £10 
  • Travelling from outside Cornwall: 
  • Up to 100 miles - £20 
  • 101 to 150 miles - £50 
  • 151 to 250 miles - £80 
  • 251 miles and above - £100 

Eligibility:

Individuals must be UK residents who are studying, or must have studied, at a state school, sixth form, college, or academy in the UK and be applying for their first undergraduate degree.  

They must also meet at least one of the criteria outlined below in order to apply:  

  • Attend a Falmouth University target school or college
  • Receive/have received 16-19 Bursary, Free School Meals or Pupil Premium in the last five years
  • Live in an area with low higher education progression. 
  • Are care experienced or a care leaver
  • Are a Young Carer
  • Have a Disability or specific learning difference
  • Are a Refugee, Asylum Seeker or have been granted humanitarian protection
  • Are Estranged
  • One or more of your parents serve in the Armed Forces
  • Are a mature student (21+) applying for your first undergraduate degree.
