To support this commitment, we are delighted to introduce a new entrance scholarship for undergraduate students joining us from England, Northern Ireland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands and Isle of Man in September 2026. This scholarship is designed to provide meaningful support, helping students manage the cost of living and settle into life at university.

Please note, this scholarship is only available for Aberdeen campus students.
Eligible students will automatically receive:
- A £2,000 discount towards University accommodation.
- A £50 weekly catering card allowance to use in university outlets for 27 weeks of teaching and exams.
This support helps make student life in Aberdeen more affordable, while giving you access to high-quality university accommodation and on-campus dining.
Terms and Conditions
Student demographics
- Students must be undergraduate Rest of UK (RUK) entrants.
- Level of entry to the University must be either Level 1 or Level 2.
- Offer is only applicable in the first year of entry to the University.
Accommodation Offer
- All students must apply for accommodation via the University accommodation system.
- The offer is for a £2000 discount on one standard self-catering room with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, but no guarantee can be given that you will be offered your first choice.
- You will be allocated one single occupancy room within the portfolio of University accommodation.
- £1000 of the discount will be applied in the first half session (September-December) and a further £1000 in the second half session (January-May).
- The offer is only valid for the agreed accommodation contract period.
- The offer is for a single occupancy room and cannot be extended to accommodate the student or their family in any other type of university accommodation.
- If the student takes up the lease they must stay all year unless withdrawing formally from the University – i.e. if at any time they wish to terminate the lease, then they would become liable for the rent for the remainder of their contractual obligation period.
- There is no cash alternative.
Catering Offer
- Students who do not wish to take up the accommodation part of the offer can still receive a catering card.
- Cards will be issued as part of the move-in process. For those students who do not wish to participate in the accommodation offer, cards will be available for collection as part of the Welcome Week activities.
- Cards will be topped up weekly
- If a card is lost then the balance can be transferred to a replacement card for a £5 replacement charge.
- If a student leaves the University the card will be cancelled.
- There is no cash alternative.
Criteria
- Available to undergraduate students from England, Northern Ireland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland commencing September 2026.
- Students must be paying the Rest of UK (RUK) tuition fee rate.
- Applicants do not need to be UK nationals.
The award is given in addition to government loans and grants.
Application Procedure
- No separate application is required.
- The scholarship is automatically awarded to all new undergraduate students who meet the criteria.
