Tees Valley Travel Award 2026/27

Our Tees Valley Travel Award provides £1,500 cash in each year of continuous study to assist with travel expenses. This award has been established to support the cost of travel to and from university, including public transport and fuel costs, ensuring you can focus on making the most of your university experience. The travel award can also be used as a contribution towards an annual rail ticket from the Tees Valley area to Sunderland.

You do not need to apply for the travel award. All those who progress from an eligible school or college within the Tees Valley area and apply to study at the University of Sunderland by 14 January 2026 will be automatically considered.

How do you apply?

You don’t. All students who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered.
