Higher Education Bursary

Scholarship information

Solihull College & University Centre will be offering a £1000 bursary to both full and part time students, to be eligible for the Higher Education Bursary, students must:

• be studying in the first year of either an eligible full-time or part-time HNC, HND, Foundation Degree or Degree

• meet UK residency requirements

• have a household income of £30,000 or below

Plus:

• If on a part-time programme, students must be studying at least 25% intensity of the full time course

The following groups are not eligible for the Higher Education Bursary:

Students transferring from another institution during the academic year

Direct entry into years 2 or 3 of a course

Students enrolling on franchised courses are not eligible for the scheme.

If we receive more applications than bursaries available, then students demonstrating the lowest household income will be supported as a priority.

Recipients of the bursaries will receive £1,000 paid in three instalments over the academic year, these payments are subject to the following conditions: -

  • Engagement with Learning e.g. Moodle, Teams and Face to Face 
  • Submission of coursework on time and to a satisfactorily standard

Your programme leader will be asked to confirm that you have met the entry criteria for all payments.
