I am currently studying Sociology with my original aspiration of becoming a teacher. However, in studying at Glasgow I have been given the opportunity to study Politics/International Relations and History. By studying these extra subjects I have realised I have many career options with a job in Politics becoming more appealing. I would be interested in working with the public and have an interest in social issues. Out with university I enjoy going new places, meeting new people and can't wait to travel again soon. Glasgow is full of friendly faces so university has been great to easily connect with like minded people sharing my interests.

Student life: I enjoy spending my free time trying new food places around Glasgow and volunteering for various societies. 

Other: I love to travel and have been on a variety of travel placements that have been supported by the university, such as working at camps in America and Canada, going on a pilgrimage to Palestine, and studying a semester abroad in Austria.

Hi! I'm Anna, I'm 21 years old, I'm Scottish and I study Portuguese and Spanish at the University of Glasgow! Currently I am on my Year Abroad in Sintra, Portugal, at a school participating in a traineeship, which is very exciting🤩. 
In the future, I would like to learn more languages such as Russian and Arabic and work in translation and interpretation, maybe even as a news reporter! However, I also adore music and even write my own, so of course the dream has always been to tour around the world! But we'll see where life takes us🫣...
I am also gluten and dairy intolerant (possibly allergies😱!) so I have had to learn to cook and bake to satisfy my dietary requirements and under a budget! As well as find the best places to eat to suit my needs to...

Pharmacology [BSc/MSci]

 My long-term career plans? Well, let’s just say I’m aiming for somewhere between a lab genius discovering the next big breakthrough and a science communicator who makes pharmacology sound cooler than it is (and trust me, it’s pretty cool).
I am passionate about science and how it can change lives in such meaningful ways and my end goal is to make medicine a bit more accessible than it is today.
Outside of academics, you’ll probably find me on the basketball court or volunteering—I love working with kids and finding ways to make learning fun for them (yes, teaching can be fun!). I also juggle a few roles like being a Class Rep and basketball convener so I’m pretty familiar with what it takes to balance the chaos of uni life. Spoiler: it’s a lot of caffeine and a lot of to-do lists.

Hi there! I'm a third-year Common Law student at the University of Glasgow, originally from New Delhi, India. It's been quite a journey from the bustling streets of my hometown to the historic campus here in Scotland!

When I'm not immersed in my legal studies, I enjoy spending my free time playing football or movies. These activities provide a perfect escape from the rigors of studying case law and help me relax after intense academic sessions.

My passion for law has only grown stronger since I started my degree. I'm particularly fascinated by international law and how it shapes our global society.    

Choosing the University of Glasgow was one of the best decisions I've made. The university's stellar reputation in the legal field was a major draw, but what really sealed the deal was the unique opportunity to study Scots law alongside English law in the Common Law degree. Plus, the chance to experience life in a vibrant city like Glasgow was too good to pass up!

Currently, I am a fourth year Common Law student here at UoG so I spend lots of my time with my head buried in textbooks but I'm really enjoying the final year of my degree. I am a massive theatre nerd and this year, I'm the Workshops Officer for Student Theatre at Glasgow (STAG) - this has been a super fun way to meet loads of new people and work on some theatre with them! Hi!! I'm a postgraduate law student, doing my International Law LLM at University of Glasgow, I have also got my Common Law LLB degree last June from the same university, so I have been here for a long time :)) I am hoping to specialise in women's rights and gender equality. I'm from Turkey and this is my fifth year in Glasgow and in UofG :) 

I have been dancing and acting since I was a kid. So, I have been very involved in performing arts for so many years and I am super lucky to be still doing that in university. I loveeeee meeting new people, attending social events, spending time with my friends, and always finding something fun to do in Glasgow with my loved ones (as a wee Covid fresher in my undergrad, I am happy that I am finally having a normal freshers week for my postgrad)!! Hi there! I’m Billie and currently in my 3rd year of the MBChB course. I am from a working-class background in Glasgow, and entered MBChB via the ‘Gateway to Medical Studies Programme’ for widening participation students. 

There’s such a variety of classes you participate in during medical school, ranging from anatomy labs to small group discussions, so the course will always keep you on your toes! You also get a flavour of being a doctor through GP or hospital placements… even in 1st year! 

I’ve really enjoyed my journey so far in medical school! I am currently on block rotations within different specialties, and I’ve really enjoyed speaking with patients, listening to their individual stories and putting my clinical skills to good use!

Hi! I’m 2nd year studying a joint honours in Management and Philosophy, having changed from a senior honours in Economics! I have taken modules in Business Law, Entrepreneurship , Marketing, HR, Finance, Maths, Economics, Operations etc. I volunteer with scouts and am in the Army OTC! I also am a part of Hare and Hounds, Tennis, Tri and Mountaineering. I am Treasurer of the Walking Club, VP of the Business Soc and Captain of the Orienteering and Fell Running Club. Happy, thoughtful, mad and passionate would be the 4 words to describe me!  I am also a proud NGO secretary which has led me to speak as a delegate at 2 UN Commissions. I developed my inter personal and problem solving skills as Philosophy Rep partaking in a subject periodic review.
