About us

Norwich University of the Arts is a forward-thinking arts university, a place where the debate about the future of creativity is most passionately engaged. 175 years old yet still pioneering, the university ranked in Top Two Creative Arts Universities in The Complete University Guide 2023.

Our award-winning city campus, made up of studios, media labs and creative spaces is at the heart of the creative quarter of Norwich. Excellent teaching across a range of creative subjects including design, media, architecture, performing arts and creative science leads to industry-relevant qualifications.

You’ll be taught by practising academics who are experts in their field, and will help you graduate with the confidence, critical thinking and creativity to shape the world.

Our graduates built the movie world of Harry Potter; designed for global brands Google and Visa; brought virtual worlds to life for BAFTA-winning video games; and built future-facing architecture for a more sustainable world.

Where history meets technology

Our award-winning campus combines historic buildings with modern and innovative spaces. We teach our specialist creative art and technology courses in these 12 buildings in the heart of Norwich's cultural quarter.

What makes us different

When you come here, you join an authentic and human-scale creative community. We value hard work, making things, mutual respect, engaging with emerging technologies, and having fun.

Our community is caring, challenging and radical. We recognise the importance of innovation and risk, and failure as a condition of creating new work, ideas and ambitions. We believe diversity - national, cultural, socio-economic, political, sexual, physical, neurological, and experiential - is the heart of creative endeavour.

We believe creative practitioners play a key role in interpreting the world, enabling us to debate with one another, see things differently, and create a more equal and sustainable future. As such, the quality and impact of our research is ranked as world-leading and internationally excellent in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.

Once you graduate, you never truly leave us. We offer free lifetime career support to all our graduates.

All of this can only happen in Norwich.
