Student life

Coming to university is all about saying ‘yes’ to new experiences and through the Union of Students, you will have access to a huge range of student communities where you can test out new
hobbies - or continue much-loved old ones - with new and like-minded friends.

We are committed to helping all students tackle the cost of living and are offering £500 off premium standard rooms for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. This annual saving is based on a typical 42-week contract. But that is not all; gas, electricity, water and superfast Wi-Fi are all included in your fixed price rent meaning you can budget more effectively and enjoy peace of mind with no unexpected charges.

Awarded Best University Housing for four years running, Best Environmental Management for three years running, and Best Value for Money as voted for by students in the Global Student Living Awards 2025, our accommodation is the perfect place to begin student life.

What's it like to live in East Midlands?
Check out our region guide

The East Midlands comprises five counties, with its main cities being Derby, Leicester, Lincoln and Nottingham.

The region has plenty of history, boasting both the world’s first factory and its first pub (allegedly). It also has many castles, cathedrals and stately homes, including Chatsworth House, which has served as the backdrop to period films like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice.

And, of course, you’ll find the gorgeous Peak District here. If you end up studying in the East Midlands, definitely make a trip to explore its rolling green hills, peatlands, and quaint market towns – like Buxton, the caverns of Castleton, and Bakewell (home of the famous tart).
