Student life

With countless opportunities to get involved, you can make the most of your university experience.  From studying abroad and joining clubs and societies to volunteering or gaining part-time work, we offer extracurricular activities that give you the chance to meet new people, build your CV, and create lasting memories.

You’ll be based at one of our two distinctive campuses in Canterbury or Medway, both under an hour from London by train. Before you arrive, you’ll get the chance to connect with your future course mates and housemates, making your arrival an exciting experience.

Once you’re on campus, we’ll help you settle in during Welcome Week. This is your chance to explore new opportunities, meet our wellbeing and support teams, and prepare for academic success.

At CCCU, your university journey goes beyond the classroom - it's an experience designed to help you grow, connect, and thrive.

What's it like to live in South East?
Check out our region guide

South East England is made up of nine counties, with popular student cities in Brighton & Hove, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, and Southampton.

The area sees plenty of sunshine and Brighton – the LGBTQ+ capital of the UK – is a student favourite, with tons of quirky shops, cafes, arts, nightlife and watersports.

Moving east into Kent, you'll find the charming towns of Whitstable, Broadstairs, and Margate – all bursting with literary history – plus the iconic landmarks of Dover’s white cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral.

London is an hour or two away for gigs, theatre trips and capital city adventures, while the country’s two largest airports – Heathrow and Gatwick – mean international journeys are easy to get started.
