2026 cycle applicant figures – October deadline
For the Conservatoires October deadline data release, from the 2026 cycle onwards, we have updated our methodology to ensure greater accuracy and consistency:
- Correction of Previous Exclusions: In the 2024 and 2025 dashboards, some applications to October deadline courses were excluded in error. This has now been rectified.
- Updated Course Criteria: Courses are now classified as October deadline only when they were identified as such in the cycle being reported. For example, applications to a course marked as October deadline in the 2024 cycle are included in 2024 figures only.
- Time Series Adjustment: The time series has been reduced to six cycles to enable this methodology update.
These changes improve comparability and transparency across cycles. Please bear this in mind when interpreting trends over time.
Applications for 2026 music courses had to be submitted to UCAS by 18:00 on 2 October.
This release includes reports covering different characteristics of applicants (including domicile, age, gender, Indices of Multiple Deprivation and POLAR4 quintile) and provision type. In addition to the interactive tool above we’ve produced CSV files containing the data reported.
