Summary
Based on lived experiences, this session will talk through the key challenges and barriers that students face with the transition to university and how we as a TEF Gold provider are responding to them through our resources that are available for your students. It will provide you as advisers with top tips for supporting your students with this transition.
The session will also talk through our Get Ready for Uni programme that won the award for best practice in the HELOA Awards 2025. From developing confidence through to learning to cook, Get Ready for Uni provides free on-demand resources that are designed by our experienced staff in collaboration with alumnus, educational expert and well-known TV personality, Baasit Siddiqui, to prepare students for this transition. When Baasit is not starring on our screens he runs Siddiqui Education, a consultancy which specialises in motivational talks, workshops, and competitions to promote new life skills in young people. We’re using our combined experience and sector knowledge to deliver the Get Ready for Uni programme to prepare your students for the next chapter in their life.
