This event has now finished
Are you interested in supporting, inspiring and guiding young people to reach their potential?

Opening times

22 April 2025 - 19:30 to 20:30

As a teacher, you can really change young people’s lives for the better. From promoting their creativity and improving their academic performance to sowing the seeds of life-long learning and developing their career aspirations.

Graduating with a degree opens the door to a secondary teaching career through UHI's internationally recognised Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).

With the PGDE you'll benefit from hands-on teaching experience and advice from our experienced teaching specialists. We offer 1 year full-time study at our campuses and local learning centres and in the Scottish Borders and Aberdeen City, as well as the chance to become a teacher through the medium of Gaelic. We also offer 2 year part-time study online from anywhere in Scotland. With UHI's strong partnership with local authorities we can provide valuable placements for our students and you could start with a salary over £33k.

The programme offers the following teaching subject choices:
+ Art and Design
+ Biology and Science
+ Business Education
+ Chemistry and Science
+ Computing Science
+ English
+ Gaelic
+ History
+ Home Economics
+ Mathematics
+ Music
+ Physics and Science
+ Religious Education
+ Technological Education

With applications closing 14 May (part-time study) and 31 May (full-time study) there is still time to apply for this life-changing career move.
