About the course
BSc Children’s Nursing prepares you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, young people and their families. Ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Nursing (Guardian University Guide 2024) and 2nd in the UK for student satisfaction (Complete University Guide 2025), the programme combines high quality teaching with hands-on clinical experience.
On successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Children’s Nurse. Throughout your three years, you will work towards meeting NMC standards of proficiency and develop the values of the NHS Constitution, including compassion, dignity and respect.
You will gain a strong understanding of family centred care, the principles of caring for children and young people, complex and critical care, and the equal importance of physical and mental health.
Home students are eligible for a non repayable £5,000 NHS bursary per academic year, with additional support available in certain circumstances.
