Imagine studying at one of the best pharmacy schools in the world, where the focus is on helping you to succeed. Our MPharm Pharmacy degree will empower you to make a difference and give you the skills and confidence to become a registered pharmacist.

From day one, you’ll be learning in an environment shaped by students like you. We’ve collaborated with our students to co-design our curriculum – ensuring our teaching reflects real-world practice, the latest thinking and the future of healthcare.

We integrate professional practice, drug prescribing and patient skills across therapeutic themes. You’ll combine clinical knowledge with professional skills, preparing you to confidently communicate with patients and healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of medicines.

You’ll also gain clinical experience through placements in community, GP and hospital pharmacy settings.  

What can you expect?

  • Develop confidence in patient care: you’ll learn how to assess, speak to and treat patients through realistic role-play with trained actors

  • Learn professional skills that stand out: role play working with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals in our Clinical Teaching spaces

  • Gain hands-on experience: run your own simulated pharmacy in a fully immersive environment, where you’ll prescribe and supply medicines and provide advice to patients

Meanwhile, your placements will give you clinical interaction and real-world experience.

Want to see the world? You’ll have the opportunity to visit our campus in Malaysia, to study abroad in your second year and/or for your research project in your third year. This experience allows you to experience a different culture as well as different approaches to health care.

There may also be opportunities to attend pharmacy conferences.

You’ll graduate ready to complete the one-year Foundation Training employment, which is required to become a registered pharmacist.

including Chemistry and at least one further science A level from Biology, Maths/Further Maths or Physics. The third subject can be chosen from a wide range of subjects, but General Studies, Critical Thinking, Citizenship Studies, Global Perspectives and Research and Thinking Skills are excluded.

A Pass in the practical element is required for science A levels if assessed separately.
