Sport and Exercise Science (R74)

Sport and exercise performance is driven by science and this degree puts the study of the human body and mind at the heart of your learning. You’ll explore the core disciplines of biomechanics, physiology and psychology, helping you make sense of how people move, think and perform. You’ll investigate real-world case studies, analyse data and apply the scientific principles required to optimise performance, improve health and reduce injury risks. Course Modules

This sport and exercise science degree has three stages, each comprising 120 credits.

Stage 1 introduces the key scientific ideas that underpin sport, exercise and physical activity.

Stage 2 develops your knowledge in the three core disciplines of sport and exercise science: physiology, biomechanics and psychology.

Stage 3 brings together your learning by focusing on the psychological aspects of athletic development and examining contemporary issues in physiology and biomechanics.
