Course summary

The Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Equine Management, validated by Ulster University, is unique within the island of Ireland. The course which has been developed in consultation with the equine industry to meet their needs, aims to produce motivated graduates with practical and managerial skills and the ability to make sound judgements in all aspects of managing an equine enterprise.
Equine courses offered at Enniskillen Campus incorporate a strong practical dimension and the philosophy of ‘learning by doing’ underpinned by current scientific theory is applied throughout all programs. Specialist Amenities: The campus was founded in 1967 and has provided over 50 years of high quality education and training, with equine courses being offered since the early 1990s. The combination of excellent equestrian, teaching and residential facilities at the campus enables students to develop their practical and academic competencies in a pleasant environment. The students receive excellent support from members of the national and international equine industry. The campus has an impressive range of indoor and outdoor facilities. There are stabling facilities for student livery horses, a horse walker, active turnout facilities plus an indoor arena and an outdoor arena. The equine industry is an international business with many job opportunities, enabling students to experience life and work around the world. Enniskillen Campus currently provides the widest range of equine programmes in the island of Ireland. Courses have been developed which meet the needs of the industry and students alike, producing graduates with the capability to succeed in a wide range of careers. Through the courses, the College aims to help develop a competitive equine industry and aspires to give students an insight into many different equine related careers.
