Course summary

User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design impacts every facet of our lives, from mobile phones, tablets, video games, online interactions and of course our interactions in the real world. Great user interface and user experience design impacts the quality of our lives at every level, whether that's for entertainment products such as games, animation and apps, interface design for interactive media, theme parks, museums or branded experiences. User Experience Design has never been so varied or exciting!

Our UI/UX for Games and VFX masters degree has been created with our industry partners, including Creative Assembly to be a highly focused digital design course that encompasses not only technical and artistic approaches but the psychology of design and research. You'll learn core design practice through to the application of UI and UX, Motion Graphics and development pipelines.

This programme aims to produce graduates who design user experiences and interfaces from concept to implementation, that is applicable in Games and interactive media or linear media for animation, film and TV design. Upon graduating, you will have the transferable skills to work and support teams in both technical and artistic capacities across different animation and interactive production environments, and other forms of entertainment and experience.

This cutting-edge course will enable you to develop and refine your skills, with individual projects, as well as working alongside our Technical Art, Game Art, VFX and Animation programs. This course will provide rich and varied opportunities to work on collaborative projects, developing the soft and technical skills that games companies look for in motion graphics and of course UI or UX Designers.

Taught by industry professionals, we have a high level of industry project mentoring from external developers throughout our courses, connecting our students to current development practice. This coupled with our studio-based practice and high spec equipment will give you the best foundation to become work in games or film.
