Modules

Year one – Start your journey by taking on every role in the production process. You’ll work in small teams to create your first short films, exploring directing, camera work, sound, and editing. Regular screenings and discussions refine your creative instincts, while studying cinema history inspires your own unique filmmaking style.

Year two – Specialise in your chosen area, such as cinematography, directing, or editing. You’ll collaborate in focused production teams to create projects across fiction, documentary, and advertising. Advanced techniques and pre-production skills like pitching and budgeting will help you hone your craft and prepare for professional filmmaking.

Year three – Bring everything together by working on ambitious, larger-scale productions that simulate industry conditions. Specialise further in your role while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. With workshops in self-promotion, networking, and distribution, you’ll graduate with a polished portfolio and the confidence to launch your career.

*This course includes a placement year (also known as a sandwich year, work placement, industrial placement, or year in industry), which provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance your employability and gain practical experience in your field of study. The placement year typically occurs after year two and before year three.
