Our Integrated Master's in Forensic Chemistry develops advanced technical expertise, research experience, and the professional skills that will set you apart in a competitive field. From tackling cutting-edge topics in Chemistry and completing a year-long research project, to focusing on forensic strategy and investigating major crime scenes, you will graduate with the enhanced skills and knowledge to pursue a career in research, the analysis and investigation of forensic evidence or PhD study. This programme will be put forward for accreditation by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Chartered Society of Forensic Science (CSFS).

Our MChem Forensic Chemistry programme offers a bespoke learning experience at the intersection of chemistry and forensic science, covering everything from fundamental chemical principles to crime scene investigation and courtroom practice. In your first two years, you’ll build a solid foundation across the core areas of chemistry, with analytical topics taught through the lens of forensic evidence analysis. Alongside this, you’ll develop key skills in forensic investigation and identification, crime scene analysis, and the investigation of drugs and drug-related crime.

In the later stages of your degree, you will refine your development as a well-rounded forensic chemist, building advanced skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and professional forensic practice, including certified expert-witness training.
