International Business top-up

This course is aimed at students who are studying a degree-equivalent course in business outside of the UK, such as with one of our international partner institutions. It enables you to top up an existing business qualification into the International Business BA (Hons) degree at Coventry University.

• Flexible Level 5 or Level 6 entry*: join at the stage that matches your previous qualifications and career goals.

• Strengthen and broaden your skills and knowledge in international business offering opportunities to and develop specific areas of business expertise.

• This course is particularly relevant if you want to have a broad-based business degree, as it gives you flexibility to work in a variety of business management functional areas, such as supply chain management, project leadership or human resource management.

You can join this course at either:

• Level 5 (two-year top-up route; you start in the second year of the course) if you hold 120 credits at Level 4. Entry: All six intakes.

• Level 6 (one-year top-up route; you start in the final year of the course) if you hold 240 credits across Levels 4 and 5. Entry: September 2027, January 2028 or May 2028 only.

Course Modules

The modules studied depend on the student’s point of entry. Students entering at Level 5 complete both Year one and Year two modules. Students entering at Level 6 complete only the final-year modules.

Level 5 Entry - Year One

The below modules are studied in your first year if you enter the course at Level 5 and aim to give you an overview of business in an international context, covering key business areas such as data, management and finance. There is also a module on improving your English skills for business communication and report writing.

Level 5 entry – Year two
The below modules are studied in the second year if entering the course at Level 5. All modules are mandatory.

One Planet Marketing - 30 Credits
International Business Strategy and Governance - 30 Credits
Design Thinking and Project Management - 30 Credits
Leading Global Organisations through Crises - 30 Credits

Level 6 Entry - Year Two

The below modules are studied in the first year if entering the course at Level 6. All modules are mandatory.
