Course summary

As part of our on-going commitment to your future employability, we have recently revalidated our undergraduate courses and are delighted that they have accordingly changed from a Bachelor of Arts to a Bachelor of Science. This change reflects the analytical, evidence-based, and professional skills developed throughout the course, ensuring our curriculum remains current, relevant, and aligned with emerging trends, contemporary business practice, and the skills needed for success in the modern workplace.
Lead with strategy. Market with impact.
Maybe you want to develop a specialised understanding of how small and large businesses in London and worldwide are managed and promoted. Perhaps you are looking to thrive in an international marketing agency or set up your own business. The BSc (Hons) Business Management (with Marketing) at LSBU will enable you to develop the skills to do all this and more. You will perfect your management and marketing skills through market-based practice with consulting projects, live briefs and competitions. The emphasis of the course is on real-world application, meaning you will learn to critically analyse and create business and marketing solutions through live case studies of small entrepreneurship and operations management in real businesses.

The BSc (Hons) Business Management (with Marketing) will also allow you to connect directly with marketing experts and top-tier global and local brands through our guest lecture series. These networking events are more than just learning opportunities— they often lead to exclusive placement and internship opportunities in London and elsewhere in the United Kingdom, helping you move seamlessly from the classroom to the boardroom. In previous years, students in this course have collaborated on live projects with organisations such as Lush, the Natural History Museum, Next, Greenpeace and renowned marketing agencies like Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi, and WPP. Students have also supported 100+ businesses through consultancy projects with partners such as Southwark and Lambeth Councils, and impactful partnerships with the likes of Grow London Local.

Our recent revalidation ensures you get the most timely and up-to-date business education possible. The business world is being reshaped by artificial intelligence, sustainability, and ethical pressures, and our new Business Management BSc (Hons) prepares you to lead within it, with all three themes embedded throughout every year of your degree.

Your future employability remains at the forefront of our teaching, with our course development being directly informed by professional bodies, such as the institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs (IOEE). Your specific style learning sits at the core of our teaching as well, as you are now able to choose your preferred assessment format across modules, helping us cater to a more diverse range of learners, allowing you to perform at your best.
