Course summary

This BJTC accredited, practical course will prepare you to work in radio, TV and factual programming and will provide you with the essential skills which you’ll need to undertake a career within the multiplatform world of broadcasting. This journalism course is taught in our multimillion pound development based at the City Campus which hosts one of the largest newsrooms in the UK, a TV studio which has production facilities and three radio studios. The course is taught by our experienced staff members who have impressive experience in broadcasting, with many of our news days led by guest broadcasters from the BBC and commercial stations.

You will become familiar with studios, be given professional voice training to help your presentation skills, and gain a solid grounding in media law, public administration, ethics and regulation. You will also work with other students on regular news days that replicate industry practice, producing news packages for radio, television and our online news blog. This hands-on course prepares you for the multi-platform world of broadcasting, with our graduates working in companies such as the BBC, ITN, Sky News and BAFTA.
