OVERVIEW
*Often find yourself wondering why people think, feel and behave the way they do? If so, our new BSc (Hons) Psychology course is for you, with its contemporary curriculum and the diverse application of psychology to the modern world.
*
You will explore a range of core psychological perspectives to help you better understand human mind and behaviour and along the way, you will be able to develop your reflective skills to understand more about the application of psychology to yourself, preparing you to reach your future goals.
Alongside exploring the psychological theory in the classroom and its application to contemporary societal challenges, you will have practical opportunities to develop your research and experimental skills in our new state of the art psychology lab. Our practitioner academics and partners from across the region who work in psychology related fields will equip you to work in a diverse range of jobs or progress to study on one of our applied postgraduate courses.
Your course modules will build to help you understand problems in the real world and how psychological knowledge can be applied to help us address them. Practical work-based learning outside of the University and additional training around mental health are all included in this course and will further add to your expertise to ensure you are ready to put your acquired psychology knowledge and skills into practice.

PROFESSIONAL BODY STANDARDS This course has been written to the standards set by the professional body for psychology and accreditation will be applied for prior to commencement of the course in September 2024
INDUSTRY-FOCUSED MODULES Modules shaped to develop the skills and knowledge valued in the workplace and by employers and you will be able to conduct research you are passionate about, develop your interpersonal skills through client interaction and benefit from authentic assessments
WORK-BASED LEARNING In your third year, you will be able to put your understanding of psychological theory into practice through work-based learning
EXPERT TUITION Highly-qualified staff with extensive knowledge and experience in psychology, including forensic, sport and exercise psychology
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION In your first year, you will undertake mental health first aid training to utilise in your work-based learning or future work
FACILITIES
You will have access to our new state of the art psychology lab to develop your research skills and put your theoretical learning to the test, measuring psychophysiological responses to stimulus with our range of specialist equipment. You will also make use of our specialist software packages and equipment to help make sense of complex societal problems, and be able to access simulation and immersive suites which create environments that represent those you may face in the real world

UK:
If you are a UK student enrolling on a Foundation Degree or a BA/BSc at University College Birmingham, your fee for this academic year will be £9,790. A half year tuition fee is £4895.
This is a yearly fee, and will increase with inflation in subsequent years (in line with the government’s permitted rise).
If you are an English student studying your first higher education qualification, you can apply for a tuition fee loan from the Student Loans Company.
If you live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, you should apply to Student Finance Wales, Student Finance Northern Ireland, or SAAS.
UCB does not charge for 24 or 48 week placements.
