Studying Fine Art develops the imagination, practical skills and critical thinking needed for an ever-changing world. You’ll develop your individual art practice while building networks that open up future professional opportunities. As part of an interdisciplinary community of practising artists, you’ll explore work that investigates the present and shapes the future, growing your confidence in an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives. Through experimentation with materials and processes, you’ll take creative risks, investigate unfamiliar concepts and test new ideas, while collaborating on exhibitions, events and screenings that help expand your networks locally, nationally and internationally.

Course optionsIf English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills or equivalent. If your English language skill is currently below IELTS 6.0 we recommend you consider either the International Foundation Programme: Art, Design and Media or Sheffield Hallam University Pre-sessional English course which will enable you to achieve an equivalent English score.

• £10,050 per year (capped at maximum 20% of this during placement year)
• Some foundation courses: £5,760 for the FY, then £10,050 per year
Undergraduate international/EU tuition fee for 2027/28:
• £18,900 per year (capped at maximum 20% of this during placement year)
• Some health courses: £20,400/£20,900 per year (includes an annual placement supplement of £1,500/£2,000)
