Course summary

Architecture is about shaping the world we live in. On this course, we help you explore how buildings affect people, places, and the planet. We look at how good design can improve lives and help tackle major challenges like climate change and social inequality. You’ll work with real communities, use your creativity to find solutions, and explore how architecture can make a difference.

Our MArch course builds on what you’ve learned in your undergraduate studies. We’ll help you take your ideas further, think more deeply, and design in ways that matter. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own style, understand your values as a designer, and explore the role of the architect in society today.

You’ll work in a studio, just like in practice. There will be design projects, live briefs, and opportunities to work with people outside of architecture too. You’ll learn through doing, through making, and through thinking carefully about the places we live in.

This is a course for people who want to use design as a tool for change. It suits those who care about community, ecological thinking, and collaborative learning. We don’t believe in designing for the sake of it. We believe in design that matters.
