Course summary

The BA Top up award provides a continuous progression for students that have studied a subject specialist L5 qualification already. Assessment is built around reflection and reflective practices. This involves the development of observational skills that enable the Early Years practitioner to adapt current theory and thinking to meet the needs of the child. Course work is continuously assessed through assignments, essays, presentations, reflective practice journals, portfolios and work based dissertation. This BA Top up is designed for those working or planning to work in a leading position within the Early Years sector. The course is designed to build academic understanding, develop knowledge of child development and educational theory and understanding of the complex and conflicting theories, concepts and principles relevant to the subject area of early childhood studies.
