Nottingham

By combining chemical and environmental engineering, you will design processes and products that minimise environmental impacts on air, land and water – addressing key issues such as waste disposal, environmental compliance, pollutant management and water supply.
Our programme is characterised by its focus on industrial relevance. As well as spending a year in industry – gaining first-hand experience of the exciting challenges faced by engineers – you’ll engage in practical laboratory work, design and problem-based projects, independent and peer-led learning, and research grounded in real industrial challenges. You’ll graduate ready to make an impact in a variety of industries, including food and drink, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, and renewable energy.
In your first year, you’ll cover the fundamentals of chemical and environmental engineering and build a solid foundation in what it means to be a professional engineer.
As you progress through your course, you’ll develop a thorough understanding of chemical and environmental engineering theory, method and practice, as well as transferable skills such as project management, analytical thinking, leadership and teamwork.
By the time you graduate, you’ll have the skills, knowledge and passion to make a real difference, ready to lead the way toward a more sustainable future where engineering serves both people and the planet. You’ll also be on track to professionally register as a Chartered Engineer, following the relevant industrial training and experience.
