This Foundation Year will help you to build your confidence and lay the foundations for you to successfully complete a full degree in Marketing.
The course introduces you to key business and marketing concepts while developing essential academic and professional skills. Through practical learning and reflection, you’ll gain confidence and prepare to progress into degree-level study. You’ll learn through interactive, applied tasks, collaborative projects and independent study, building skills in communication, research, problem-solving and digital fluency. Reflective activities help you connect theory to real-world marketing contexts, creating a strong foundation for success in your Marketing degree and future career.
This Marketing Foundation Year builds confidence, academic skills and business awareness through practical learning, reflection and collaboration, preparing you to progress into degree study with resilience, curiosity and a strong sense of belonging.
You’ll be assessed in different ways, including short tasks, coursework, presentations, and group work. Early assessments are designed to support your learning and help you understand what is expected at university. Most assessments are coursework-based and help you develop key skills such as research, academic writing, teamwork, and communication. You’ll also reflect on your progress and use university systems and digital tools. Clear, timely feedback will help you understand how to improve and support your next steps.

The Tuition Fee for UK students on classroom-based foundation years is £5,760. Fees for subsequent years of the degree course will be charged in line with our standard full-time Home undergraduate fees.
Additional costs/fee information
Students have access to a wide range of resources including textbooks, publications, and computers in the University’s library and via online resources. In most cases they are more than sufficient to complete a course of study. Where there are additional costs, either obligatory or optional, these are detailed on the University website (on individual course pages). Of course students may choose to purchase their own additional personal resources/tools over and above those listed to support their studies at their own expense.
