The BSc Health and Social Care Top Up is designed to help you advance your career by combining academic knowledge with practical skills, ensuring you are fully prepared for leadership and management roles in this dynamic sector. The programme uses a wide range of assessment methods to reflect the diverse skills needed in health and social care. You will be assessed through essays, reports, presentations, posters, dissertations, and workbooks, giving you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge in both academic and practical ways. This variety ensures you develop strong communication, research, and analytical skills, while also gaining experience in presenting ideas clearly and working collaboratively. These assessments are designed to prepare you for the realities of professional practice, equipping you with the confidence to apply your learning in multi‑disciplinary health and social care environments.

Applicants wishing to gain direct entry onto the top-up at level 6 will need to have 240 credits at level 5. For example, a relevant HND, DipHE, or Foundation degree qualification, such as Social Care, Health and Social Care, Childhood Studies, Counselling or Social Sciences.
Additional entry requirements include a DBS and an interview.
