The BA/BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics is a high-quality, interdisciplinary programme that will equip you with the skills and knowledge to understand, analyse and contribute to the political and economic institutions of the 21st century, both in the UK and globally. This programme is taught jointly by the Department of Political Economy and the Department of Philosophy. The programme is administered by the Department of Political Economy.

  • In your first year, you will learn about core concepts and issues in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Your second and third years will feature a wide range of options including required modules, depending on whether you choose the BA or BSc degree.

  • Course essentials

  • Our research-led curriculum encourages critical analysis and debate on contemporary international political and policy issues. Your first year will provide you with the foundations for the study of philosophy, politics, and economics. If you wish to carry out independent research, you can opt to complete a 30-credit dissertation in your final year.

The course is primarily taught on the King’s College London Strand and Waterloo campuses. It benefits from a central location with all the facilities offered by King’s readily available and the cultural attractions of the Southbank and Covent Garden on its doorstep. The library and computing facilities are readily accessible together with the opportunity to use the University of London library at Senate House.

We will use a delivery method that will ensure students have a rich, exciting experience from the start. Face to face teaching will be complemented and supported with innovative technology so that students also experience elements of digital learning and assessment.

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 (£5,000 for Medicine and Dentistry) against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
