This programme incorporates a combination of traditional classroom teaching, open learning, demonstrations, use of surveying equipment and group activities.
Ideal for those looking to continue their training to become a chartered surveyor, site manager, architectural technician, estimator or building control officer.
The course comprises the Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Construction & the Built Environment (Construction) RQF.
Four Mandatory Core Units:
• Individual Project (Pearson-set)
• Construction Technology
• Science & Materials
• Construction Practice & Management - Two Optional Units (from nine)
Two Specialist Mandatory Units:
• Legal and Statutory Responsibilities in Construction
• Construction Information (Drawing, Detailing, Specification)
Year Two:

• Group Project (Pearson-set)
Three Specialist Management Units:
• Contracts & Management
• Project Management
• Management for Complex Building Projects
The course is continuously assessed through ongoing assignments and projects as appropriate to the subject. Deadlines will be strictly applied to the submission of work as in university and business practice. 8 units are required to complete this qualification.

Full-time and Part-time students from the UK/EU who are studying for a Higher Education course can apply to the Student Loans Company (www.slc.co.uk) for a Tuition Fee Loan for the full amount (this will be paid directly to the College). Additionally, Full-time UK only students can apply for a Maintenance loan (to cover living costs). Part-time students are also eligible for a Maintenance Loan if they are studying an Undergraduate/Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course or a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE).
Evidence of an approved Loan must be provided at enrolment in the form of the Payment Advice letter
