Develop the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and industry insight needed to thrive in a variety of uniformed and non-uniformed Public Services with the Pearson BTEC Public Services HNC Level 4. This career focused qualification provides a solid foundation in key areas such as, mental health and wellbeing, crime and substance misuse, psychology and inter disciplinary responses to emergencies. This course combines hands-on learning with academic study, making it ideal for those aiming to enter a range of different roles in sectors such as Probation, the Justice system, civilian and non-civilian Policing roles, Women’s refuge and other public facing supportive roles.
Boston College has strong partnerships with a range of local organisations, offering students valuable insight into diverse roles within public service settings. Immerse yourself in educational visits and guest speakers from organisations such as the Samaritans, Women’s Refuge, East Midlands Ambulance Service, the Restorative Justice team, and Lincoln Crown Court. Students may also have the chance to volunteer with Lincolnshire Police, including involvement in their Stop and Search programme. These experiences not only bring classroom learning to life but also provide valuable networking opportunities and first-hand knowledge from industry professionals

Assessment method
Assessment is via practical observations, written reports, presentations, interviews, posters, group-based work, and video presentations.The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

<p>In order to study the Public Services HNC Level 4, you will need to have successfully completed an MMP at Level 3 in a related subject, or Access to Higher Education qualification, or an A Level equivalent (minimum 80 new UCAS points) in related subjects; and GCSEs in English at grade 4 (C) or above, or Functional Skills Level 2 and/or minimum IELTS score of 6.
