This course will give you the opportunity to complete the new updated 2024 version HNC in Engineering for England, this is an updated version of the HNC known as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ).
The course can be studied as a standalone qualification or as part of a Level 4 Apprenticeship.
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is studied at Level 4 and is suitable for people who want to consolidate or improve their knowledge and who wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification. The HNC is generally a natural progression from BTEC or EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma qualifications, however other routes onto it are possible.
The course is delivered in our well-equipped teaching rooms, are a great place to learn about a wide variety of subjects and topic areas. The subjects studied will give you a very good grounding and are delivered in both a theoretical and practical way. The equipment used in the workshops is industry standard and most of the software/simulation/CAD packages used are the same as those used in industry.
The Pearson Higher National Certificate (HNC) is suitable for people who are currently working in or hoping to work in a technical and/or managerial role in their chosen field. It is delivered as a part time day release course and takes 2 years to complete.
You will study 8 modules at level 4: Engineering Design, Engineering Maths, Managing a Professional engineering project, Mechatronics, Mechanical Principles, Digital Principles, Production engineering for manufacturing and Quality and process improvement.
Assessment will be carried out by a series of assignments, some developed by Pearson and some in house.

This Higher Technical Qualification is approved against occupational standards decided by employers.
