The CertHE Vocal Performance & Songwriting is perfect for creative artists who want to write, record and perform their own music at a professional level. Blending songwriting, vocal artistry and performance within one unique programme, it gives you the tools, confidence and industry insights needed to build a sustainable career as an artist in today’s music industry.
While studying, you’ll explore yourself as an artist, developing your songwriting and vocal techniques from lyric and melody writing to vocal delivery and arrangement. The course covers music business, branding and self-promotion, giving you the entrepreneurial skills necessary to tackle the creator economy and power up your music career. Regular guest masterclasses, open mic nights and performance showcases will help you grow your network and confidence as a live artist.

Applicants with the Access to HE Diploma should normally have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course. Successful completion of this course requires students to gain 60 credits, with 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 credits at Level 2

These are acceptable both on their own and in combination with other qualifications. You will require a minimum of two Advanced Highers or three Highers and a maximum of 5 Scottish higher qualifications.
