The Level 4 certificate in Community Coaching offers an exciting programme to prepare you for a career in community sports. It has been designed to meet a skills gap in the current workforce, building talent to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.
You will learn a mixture of theoretical and practical skills which you will be expected to apply in a range of work-based scenarios.
The HTQ is a coursework-based qualification with no exams. As part of the qualification you will study the Professional Skills unit which asks you to research a contemporary theme in community coaching. This theme is set by Pearson each year.
Embedded within the programme will be the opportunity to achieve a professional coaching qualification which will enable you to kickstart your career as a coach or allow you to work in schools delivering PE.
The course is made up of eight 15 credit units which are as follows:

Unit 2 Fundamentals of Sport and Exercise Science Psychology
Unit 3 Anatomy and Physiology
Unit 4 Professional Skills (Pearson set unit)
Unit 5 Coaching Practice and Skill Development
Unit 6 Training, Fitness, Testing
Unit 7 Lifestyle Coaching
Unit 8 Community Coaching

This Higher Technical Qualification is approved against occupational standards decided by employers.
