Course summary

The foundation year offers an innovative pathway into your degree. It is the first part of a four-year degree programme. It provides an alternative route for those unable to meet the traditional entry requirements for a three-year degree. It will prepare you for your degree studies in a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
You will begin with an exploration of education and society, before moving onto consider including identity, being human and the digital world. Over the course of the year, you will build the skills and experience to prepare you for your chosen degree.

BSc (Hons) Business Management
This programme helps to develop skills essential to business, presentations, report writing, data analysis and decision making; enabling you to relate the skills to the industry you want to work in. You’ll meet business practitioners through guest lectures, recruitment fairs and events. We’ll get to know you and support you to gain the knowledge and connections you need to progress your career.

The programme includes management, enterprise and leadership modules, which are highly valued by a large number of UK employers. You’ll also complete work-related learning alongside a mixture of academic and applied teaching. Our experts have a broad range of professional experience – with backgrounds ranging from hotel management to a consultancy business, from chartered accountancy to management consultancy. We share real experience and insights into the academic theories that work, as well as where they don’t. It’s an interactive environment where we get to know what your goals are and we help you to gain the skills you need.
