Course summary

Our BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering degree is designed for students who want to understand the physics of flight and turn creative ideas into practical engineering solutions. Through hands-on learning that blends engineering science with extensive laboratory and workshop activity, you will put your ideas into practice through wind tunnel testing, and simulation-based exploration of flight.

Each year includes collaborative design projects shaped by industry partners, giving you the chance to apply your ideas to authentic engineering problems. As your studies progress, you'll build expertise in aerodynamics, propulsion, aerospace materials, and avionic and control systems, supported by modern facilities and specialist equipment.

You will benefit from strong regional industry connections and insights into emerging technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells, biofuels, and advanced manufacturing. With the option of a year-long placement, you'll graduate with the technical capability and professional confidence to begin your aerospace career.

This course is also available with a foundation year.
