Course summary
Build confidence and academic skills while exploring health, wellbeing and social care, preparing you to progress onto the full degree and future professional study.
Designed for students who do not currently meet the entry requirements for the Health, Wellbeing and Social Care degree and who aspire to work in the health, wellbeing and social care sector. This Foundation Year provides a supportive introduction to university study and prepares you for progression onto the full degree which is accredited by the Institute of Health and Social Care Management.
Assessment method
Assessment methods replicate those activities required in the workplace such as report writing, presentations, developing academic posters, reflective writing, work-based portfolios, literature reviews, analysing complex cases and managing change.

The University normally requires a minimum 3 GCSEs including Mathematics and English at Grade C/Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent but consideration is given to individual circumstances.
