Learn how to help people reach their goals through sport and physical activity with our Sport Coaching degree. This course will teach you how to improve performance at all levels, from beginners to top athletes.

You'll gain important coaching skills and knowledge that will help you pursue a career in coaching. You’ll make a positive impact on people's lives, whether you're helping them in competitive sport or to live healthier lives.

You'll apply the latest coaching methods and learn valuable leadership skills. This will help you to motivate and guide others. You can specialise in an area that matches your interests, such as coaching, performance analysis or talent development.

Our course focuses on hands-on, practical learning to help you gain experience. Instead of exams, you'll complete tasks like running coaching sessions, creating portfolios and giving presentations. You'll also take part in small group workshops, which allows more interaction and personalised attention from tutors.

Using free days in your schedule, you can pursue work experience, internships and other personal development activities. You’ll have opportunities to get involved in coaching roles to practice your skills and build your CV.

Our teaching staff include experienced coaches and professionals from the industry. They will share their knowledge and help you connect with valuable contacts to grow your network.

Future Careers

Our BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching degree will put you on the road to professional practice. We encourage you to apply theory to real-life situations and settings. You'll spend time within your degree working with potential employers and showcasing your skills.

Our BSc Sport Coaching graduates gain employment in various sport and health related roles, including:

  • Academy football coach

  • Head gymnastics coach

  • Head of coaching

  • Lead performance analyst

  • Netball academy coach

  • Community football development manager

  • PE teachers

Some of our graduates continue to study with us through our MSc Sports Coaching master’s degree, continuing to enhance their knowledge whilst in their full-time job. Others have considered an MSc in Performance Analysis & Talent Management or a PGCE to start teaching.
