Course summary

This top-up programme enables students with a level 5 in Games Design and Production or Virtual Technologies to pursue specialist areas of expertise in order to develop innovative solutions with Virtual Reality Technology or Games Technology.

The programme emphasises the breadth of Interactive Digital Immersion to provide solutions beyond the conventional, considering the past, present and future. Upon completion, students will understand the practical requirements of setting up a company, of working freelance, of seeking funding or access to exhibition space and will be actively encouraged to source their own space for the showcasing of their Project Innovation. Students will consider how to enable inclusive access to their productions thus broadening their cultural understanding and potential user base.

The programme will provide opportunity for students to work with a range of sectors across the college and the South-West (for example Marine, Engineering, Building) and beyond (such as English Heritage) in order to provide Game based or Virtual Reality solutions, enabling students access to a more diverse learning environment and developing their interpersonal and management skills.
