Course summary

This is a Level 4 stand alone qualification that is basically the first year of our Degree Programme. The course will enable those students who are unable to commit to studying for a full BA Honours degree to have an understanding of, and learn the basic skills required in their chosen subject.

This new and exciting course has been developed in response to the expanding creative industries that influence our world today. If you are interested in game and character concept design, environment design for film or illustration our Concept Art & Illustration Certificate of Higher Education is a perfect starting point for you.

Carmarthen School of Art is known for its ‘family’ atmosphere, and open door policy. Class sizes are small and tutor contact is second to none.

You can expect a varied programme of assignments that highlight the importance of technical skills within the industry. Students have access to excellent facilities with high spec computer suites with the latest versions of industry standard software (including the Adobe Suite, Zbrush, Blender & Autodesk), also cutting-edge resources including high-end Apple Macintosh computers, Microsoft Surface Studio and Wacom Cintiq. And with small class sizes, students have plenty of access to these facilities.
